Handling Applications

Incomplete Applications: : Arkansas law does not address the issue of whether or how voter registration drives should address missing information. Do not make any changes to an application or fill in missing information without the express consent of the applicant, who is attesting to the truth of what is filled out.

Photocopying Completed Applications: As a best practice, a voter’s full or partial Social Security number and/or driver’s license number should not be retained.

Submitting Completed Applications: Mail or deliver completed applications within 21 days of the date on the application or by 30 days before Election Day, whichever is earlier. Criminal penalties apply if the deadline rules are not followed. Print VRD01 in “Agency Code” box on EACH APPLICATION filled out during a voter registration drive.

  • If all applicants live in the same county, then the applications can be delivered to the county clerk.

  • If applicants live in different counties, the applications can be delivered to the Secretary of State.

  • The federal voter registration application can be mailed to the following address: Secretary of State, Voter Services, P.O. Box 8111, Little Rock, AR 72203- 8111.
