Compensation Restrictions: Do not pay registration drive participants based on how many registrations they collect. Do not offer an applicant any incentive of monetary value to register to vote.

Photocopying Blank Forms: You can photocopy blank forms for voter registration drives.
Incomplete Applications:Do not make any changes to an application or fill in missing information without the express consent of the applicant, who is attesting to the truth of what is filled out. If the applicant is unable to sign his/her name, the person providing assistance must provide their name, address, and phone number in box 11 of the application form.
Photocopying Completed Applications: As a best practice, a voter’s full or partial Social Security number and/or driver’s license number should not be retained.
Submitting Completed Applications: Mail or deliver completed applications within 21 days of the date on the application or by 30 days before Election Day, whichever is earlier. Criminal penalties apply if the deadline rules are not followed. Print VRD01 in the “Agency Code” box on each application filled out during a voter registration drive.
