Voter Registration Deadline

Completed voter registration applications must be received by the clerk no later than 5pm 11 days before Election Day.

Voters may register during early voting or on Election Day by casting a provisional ballot.

Getting Started

Training Requirement: Utah does not require training for registration drives.

Notification and Registration Requirements: Utah does not have notification requirements for registration drives.

Compensation Restrictions: Do not pay registration drive participants based on how many registrations they collect. Do not incentivize registration with anything of monetary value.

Obtaining Applications

State Form: The state voter registration application can be obtained from the county clerk or downloaded here: vote.utah.gov/wpcontent/uploads/sites/42/2024/01/VoterRegistration-Form-Revised-1.4.pdf

Federal Form: The federal mail-in voter registration application may be used in voter registration drives: eac.gov/voters/national-mail-voter-registration-form/

Photocopying Blank Forms: Blank applications may be photocopied and used in voter registration drives.

Handling Applications

Incomplete Applications: Do not fill in any missing information on a registration form without express consent of the applicant, who is attesting to the truth of what is on the form.

Photocopying Completed Applications: As a best practice, a voter’s full or partial Social Security number and/or driver’s license number should not be retained.

Submitting Completed Applications: Applications submitted by third-party voter registration organizations must be received by the appropriate county clerk at or before 5pm on the voter registration deadline. You may mail or scan and email completed applications. You may find the clerk office here: vote.utah.gov/contact-yourcounty-election-officials/
