On October 16th, a federal district court indicated it would issue a preliminary injunction to halt Secretary of State Wes Allen’s removal of naturalized citizens from state voter rolls.
The move comes after a preliminary injunction hearing on October 15th before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama in a suit filed by the Campaign Legal Center, Fair Election Center and Southern Poverty Law Center on behalf of four Alabamians as well as Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice, the Alabama State Conference of the NAACP and the League of Women Voters of Alabama.
