On March 31, 2022, a federal court sided with Fair Elections Center’s client, the Harriett Tubman Freedom Fighters, ruling that Florida’s Senate Bill 90 infringed on its right to free speech when the state forced the organization to make false claims to potential voters while trying to help them register to vote. The Center was joined in representing the organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the firm Baker McKenzie. PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona’s Republican governor on Wednesday signed a bill requiring voters to prove their citizenship to vote in a presidential election, drawing fierce opposition from voting rights advocates who say it risks affecting some 200,000 people.
