Communications Internship

Fair Elections Center is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to safeguarding the future of our democracy through innovative efforts focused on voting rights and civic engagement. This spring, we are seeking a paid, part-time intern to join our communications department and help us further our democratic engagement work across the country.

What You'll Do

  • Develop media content for public distribution, including graphics and videos.
  • Craft written communications, like emails and blog posts. 
  • Update the Fair Elections Center websites.
  • Help manage the CRM database.

Who You Are:

  • A believer in the mission of the Fair Elections Center to defend, expand and facilitate voting rights in the United States 
  • Has a desire to learn about contemporary political and civil rights issues and be part of the solution
  • An organized self-starter 
  • Has the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • A creative and innovative storyteller with the ability to break down complex information into something digestible for the average person
  • Skills or the desire to learn skills like graphic design, writing, video editing, or basic web design 
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

Students in writing or arts programs like journalism, digital art or graphic design, and public relations, or who are proficient in applications like Canva, Adobe Suite, or WordPress are encouraged to apply. 

This is a paid, part-time virtual position and you should expect to attend at least one synchronous meeting a week. 

During the spring semester, interns will be expected to work up to 15 hours per week from January 26, 2026 to May 22, 2026. A stipend of $1,200 will be provided within 30 days after completion of the spring semester.
