National Voter Friendly Campus Intern

Fair Elections Center is seeking a National Intern to support the Voter Friendly Campus program. At Campus Vote Project (CVP), we work with universities, community colleges, faculty, administrators, students, and election officials to reduce barriers to voting.

The Voter Friendly Campus designation program was started through a partnership between Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. This partnership was formed as a tool to support higher education institutions fulfilling the requirements of the Higher Education Act of 1965, which necessitates that institutions distribute voter registration forms to their students. Due to the lack of instructions and guidance regarding this requirement, the Voter Friendly Campus designation process was developed in an effort to create more measurable and manageable guidelines for institutions to follow in order to create a more voter-friendly campus. There are nearly three hundred campuses across the country involved with the program

The Voter Friendly Campus Intern will:

  • Support the writing and development of the VFC Report.
  • Update our CRM with new information and ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist in planning for webinars.
  • Research potential VFC campuses and contacts.

The Intern will report to the National Voter Friendly Campus Director, and is expected to participate in various meetings throughout the week as the student schedule allows. All candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Google Drive. Keen organization skills and candidates that identify as strong self-starters are ideal for these positions.

This is a paid, part-time virtual position for ten weeks at up to 30 hours a week. The official start and end date are flexible based on the selected candidate with approval of the supervisor with plans to conclude by mid-August. A stipend of $1,200 will be provided after completion of the internship. The priority application deadline is Monday, May 19th, 2025.

Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis, until the position is filled. Fair Elections Center is an equal opportunity employer and enthusiastically encourages applicants of all backgrounds to apply.

Candidates should submit a resume with a brief letter of interest to Chuck Black at voterfriendlycampus@fairelectionscenter.org.

This is a full-time remote position, with a salary starting at $58,000 commensurate with experience. Fair Elections Center offers generous employer paid health, vision, and dental insurance, 3 weeks vacation, and a 403(B) retirement plan with employer contribution.

Fair Elections Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diversity in our work environment and believe it furthers our mission to create and preserve an inclusive democracy for all voters and for underrepresented and marginalized communities in particular.
